GoLite Jacket

If nothing comes between you and your daily run or hike, then you need the right gear to keep you prepared for everything from gray windy days to those not-so-ideal weather conditions.   With the Arapahoe Ridge Jacket from GoLite, you’ve got a layer ready to keep you fast on your feet without sacrificing protection from the elements as you run, bike, hike and explore your world.

About GoLite…
Since their founding, the minds at GoLite have been redefining lean and mean for the outdoor enthusiast.  GoLite continues to fuel, the “Lite-Weight Revolution” in an effort to enable more people around the world to benefit from the freedom and joy of going lite in their chosen adventures.  The GoLite Arapahoe Ridge Jacket is no exception to their ‘lite-is-right’ rule.

On Performance and Design…
Whether our adventures take us backpacking along the Tahoe Rim Trail, or on morning runs through California’s coastal forests, we’re always on the lookout for quality outerwear to provide capable protection from Mother Nature’s attempts to make us turn back.

GoLite Jacket

The GoLite Arapahoe jacket fits that description to a tee.  No heavier than two energy bars, this lightweight jacket stands at the ready to shield you from the wind and even shrug off a little morning misty rain.

Constructed of 88% recycled polyester and 12% spandex, we loved the movement-focused construction that provides unrestricted motion.  The result is we never wasted energy working against unrelenting fabric. The GoLite team also provided a durable water-repellent finish to repel moisture. Still, we found it exceptionally breathable so when our engines were tilting in the redzone, the Arapahoe Ridge jacket never left us with that clammy feeling.

An active cut, drop tail hem, and articulated arms add to the Arapahoe Ridge jacket’s performance and more importantly, we find it to be just downright comfortable.  Reflective details on both the front and back help to keep you visible.  Then when the afternoon sun burns off the cloud cover, simply stuff this 11-ounce gem into your pack and continue on your way.

GoLite Jacket

The only thing better than the performance of this jacket (and all of the compliments you’ll get wearing it), is the price.  At $60 for the men’s version and a mere $50 for the women’s, it honestly feels like you’re getting away with something darn near illegal when you purchase this product.

Notes from the Trail…
There are some ultra-minimalists who might suggest that the 11-ounce weight is almost double some wind shells on the market.  But the reality is that the Arapahoe Ridge jacket provides a higher level of protection from the elements, and still refuses to weigh you down when it’s time shed the jacket.

Bottom Line…
A shield against Mother Nature’s attempts to sabotage your day on the trail.
