Inspired by Salomon’s trail running technology, the 4D Advanced Chassis construction incorporates thermoplastic urethane midsole supports which help control flex, reduce ankle strain, enhance stability and help protect your feet when trekking long distances over craggy trails. EVA heel cup and footbeds are ergonomically designed for the comfort you need, when you need it. The Salomon design team also added in a speed lace system for easy on-and-off, and an abrasion-resistant toe and heel cap for rock protection, because Mother Nature doesn’t always play nice.
A Gore-Tex lining offers waterproof protection that sheds water from passing showers and stream crossings, but doesn’t make your foot overheat when the sun breaks from behind the clouds. Underfoot, Salomon’s Contagrip rubber outsole grips, brakes, and secures your steps over any terrain you may encounter.
Notes from the Trail…
The naysayers will tell you that there’s plenty of boots with Gore-Tex lining, grippy rubber outsoles and leather uppers. Indeed, we’ve seen more than our fair share of boots fitting that description come through the Gumption Gear HQ. But as they say, don’t judge a book by its cover.
