At the core of the TT-3 iis TerraLUX’s patented LEDSense® Thermal Management circuitry. The Terralux TT-3 Tactical 250 Lumens flashlight actively samples the temperature of the LEDs in a TerraLUX light module, and responds as required by making adjustments to the LED drive conditions. In short, no matter what the environmental conditions, you get maximum light output.
Most impressive for our editors, was the fact that the TT-3 flashlight needs just two AA batteries to pump out a blinding 250 lumens. That makes this light as bright as the scorching summer sun without the necessity of expensive alternative batteries.
As with all TerraLUX flashlights in the TT line, the TT-3 features a secondary mode switch on the bottom of the TT-3 allowing you to easily switch to a rapid strobe mode. Combine the stunning LED light along with the strobe capability and the TT-3 is a tremendous self-defense tool. With a design that feels right at home in your hand, the self defense applications make this a perfect tool for night time runners looking for a little added security. Or, should your adventure take a turn for the worse, it can also serve as a helpful signal light.
The Critique…
Listed with an MSRP of $109, the one downside of the TT-3 is a definitive sticker shock. However, if you use your internet savvy and shop around, you can find it for under $90, which is a virtual steal for a product of this caliber.
