Copy of Kelty_8Packing a hefty dose of warmth for the price, the Kelty Cosmic 0-Degree Sleeping Bag will keep you comfortable whether you’re sleeping above the treeline, camped out in the resort parking lot, or waiting for the storm to clear at camp before launching a summit bid.

On Performance and Design…
At one point or another, every outdoor enthusiast has walked through the doors of their favorite outdoor shop, and wandered the aisles feeling defeated as they realize that their gear needs and budgets seem hopelessly mismatched. Packing a hefty dose of warmth for the price, the Kelty Cosmic 0-Degree Sleeping Bag hits the sweet spot of price ($219.95) and performance.

True, you could pay a lot more for a zero degree sleeping bag. But why would you? The Cosmic 0 offers 600-fill hydrophobic DriDown that ensures all the benefits of nature’s best insulator; big warmth and compressibility. But unlike normal goose down, the hydrophobic DriDown is specially treated with an advanced nano technology that absorbs one-third the moisture and dries two-thirds faster than untreated down, making this sleeping bag a great choice for backcountry trips in damp or winter laiden climates.

Kelty built the Cosmic 0’s shell out of ripstop for durability and the liner out of taffeta for your comfort. It has a thermal comfort hood to help keep you extra cozy when the camp fire dies down. The bag also features Kelty’s patented FatMan and Ribbon drawcords, which allow you to adjust the top or lower sections of the hood with ease even when it’s pitch black outside.

A standard mummy bag shape maximizes the thermal efficiency of the bag, while a draft tube prevents warm air from escaping out of the dual-sliding, locking zipper. Together, all these features ensured our crew kept toasty warm when temps dropped below zero and the winds kicked up to 40 mph. Need a little extra length? The Kelty Cosmic 0 sleeping bag is also available in a “long” size which accommodates outdoor enthusiasts up to 6′ 6″.

Bottom Line…
Equally at home in the frontcountry as it is in the backcountry, this versatile bag offers blissful warmth retention and a great night’s sleep without breaking the bank.
