Change Your Perspective: The GoScope Boost Plus

IMG_9018-EditThe GoPro is arguably the most popular camera in the world, and has revolutionized an entire industry. Since it’s inception, the third-party eco-system for GoPro accessories has exploded, dramatically expanding the way GoPro (and other POV) cameras can be used. Part of that burgeoning new eco-system is GoScope, a brand shifting perspectives of how people can capture their adventures.

On Design and Performance…
Of the stable of GoScope’s products, the Boost Plus is perhaps the brand’s most versatile offering making it the darn near essential selfie accessory. It’s a 3 stage, telescoping extension pole for your GoPro that extends from 17.5″ inches all the way up to 40 inches. Pair this with the GoPro’s wide angle, fisheye lens and you’ve just given your video and photos some pretty spectacular angles. Scope Locks facilitate easy adjustments so you can fix your GoScope Boost to the desired length, lock it into place, and get on with your adventure.

But what sets the GoScope poles apart from the rest of the crowd is an innovative dual quick release mount, allowing you to capture your GoPro camera footage from fresh new perspectives. With dual end mounts you can double your field of view, capture adventures in different formats, or capture images both forward and backward simultaneously. However you decide to use it, the GoScope head dramatically expands the range of options available to the user.

IMG_8738In terms of overall build, the GoScope Boost Pole offers the type of rugged, durable design all GoPro accessories should aspire too. The lightweight magnesium aluminum alloy pole is ready for adventures ranging from shredding snow topped peaks to lazy days in the hammock. The rubber handle offers plenty of grip when you step to the handrail at the skatepark, and the circumference makes for easy handling during cold weather pursuits when your hands are lacking their traditional dexterity.

As an added bonus, the GoScope Boost Plus also comes with a removable wrist strap and housing for your GoPro’s Wi-Fi Remote. It’s worth noting that the wrist strap isn’t just some marketing afterthought. Hands down, it’s one of the best straps we’ve used and speaks to the level of detail the design team put into the overall product. All told, even on days when we may not have a use for the dual end mounts, we’ve found ourselves reaching for the GoScope Boost Plus simply because we love dependable in-hand feel that it offers.

Notes from the Field…
While there’s plenty to love about the Boost Plus, it’s not quite perfect. The first glitch we noticed is that you’re not able to attach your GoPro camera without partially extending the pole. It’s a minor issue, but one that you’ll definitely notice when swapping your GoPro on and off the quick release mounts.

DSC_0556Only have one GoPro camera and don’t want to use the Boost Plus singularly for selfies? In that instance you may become frustrated with the need to constantly flip the camera mount around. Herein lies the trade-off of the GoScope system. Rather than a multifunctional head assembly that can be adjusted without removal to take selfies or landscape shots, the GoScope dual end mounts require a little more snapping in and out of the fixed mounts. Much like any product, we simply suggest that you spend some time thinking about how you’ll be using your GoPro accessory and make an informed purchase from there.

Bottom Line…
With a rugged build that yearns for adventure in the wild and a unique dual quick release mount, the GoScope Boost Plus offers fresh perspectives and new possibilities for capturing your adventures.
